Happy Half Birthday
Today is Oscar's 1/2 Birthday. Yup. We recognize half birthdays. As kids, we always got cake and a banner. You see, my Grandmother + Grandfather started the tradition with my Dad, who in turn did the same for us kids. And, Oscar will continue the tradition! Before you roll your eyes - consider this - isn't it great fun to have special days as a child? Any reason to celebrate happy moments is my philosophy.

Lindsay - I just love your blog. Your Oscar is adorable and I wish him a very happy half birthday.
I have not yet updated my front planters and for some reason always pick the wettest, coldest day in November to cut greenery. The greens are still waiting patiently on my porch as well...
Sooo cute - groove on Oscar! :) I agree, any opportunity to celebrate is fine by me! :)
Hahaha he's too cute! Happy 1/2 Birthday Oscar!
Happy Half Birthday, Oscar! How cute is he....he looks like he's doing a little BD dance!
No eye rolling here Lindsay! I love half birthdays!
And Oscar is looking so adorable!
I love half birthdays. I always acknowledge mine!
One of my old friends birthday was my half birthday and vice versa, we ended up with cake -- or half a cake -- from time to time.
Hee! I don't think you're alone in celebrating the half birthdays... one of my friends was talking about the fancy cupcakes she made for a family half birthday today! Please tell me, though, that you sang "Halfie Birthday" to your boy. In our house, that's a half birthday requirement! Halfie birthday, Oscar, from all of us! - Steph P.
He is just sooooo stinkin' cute! My little guy will be 3/4 on Saturday!! :)
Adorable idea and an even more adorable picture.
Congratulations to all of you. He's a sweetie. I'm with you on half birthdays. My sister and I are 6 months apart on the calendar--I'm 2/19 and she's 8/19. We always wish the other happy half-bday when our bdays roll around. And to make it even better, my new daughter was also born on my sister's birthday, so there is even more to celebrate!

I think it's AWESOME! Maybe a new tradition to start in our house! Do you have a 1/2 birthday cake (literally half a birthday cake)?
